Fatigue: Should You Get Tested for Addison’s Disease?

Adrenal insufficiency can be primarily due to damage of the adrenal glands (referred to as Addison’s Disease). It can also be secondary when there is pathology affecting the pituitary in the brain. There is emerging scientific evidence that there may be a subclinical form of Addison’s Disease, raising the question as to whether testing for Addison’s should be part of the differential diagnostic workup for a patient with fatigue. In today’s broadcast, we will explore these issues in greater detail.
